🏷️ Auction Overview

  • Global Demand: Firm to dearer across most grades and regions.

  • Mombasa Auction:

    • 116,280 packages offered – lowest weekly volume this year.

    • All-average price: Increased by 4 US cents to $2.04/kg.

    • Unsold percentage: 21%, slightly improved from last week.

🍃 Key African Markets

🇰🇪 Kenya (Mombasa)

  • BP1s: KTDA East of Rift (EoR) continued to firm, flavory types appreciated. KTDA West of Rift (WoR) saw weaker demand.

  • PF1s: Better KTDA EoR types sold at dearer rates; blacker KTDA WoR types firm to dearer.

  • PD/D1 Grades: Strong demand for EoR teas; Egypt-types particularly firm.

  • Buyers: Pakistan, Egypt, UK, Yemen active. Sudan remained largely absent.

🇺🇬 Uganda

  • Steady demand at firm to slightly dearer rates.

  • Leaf quality mixed due to seasonal browning.

🇷🇼 Rwanda

  • Strong interest across all grades.

  • Seasonal peak in quality; dry season reducing availability.

🇧🇮 Burundi

  • Availability improved; demand selective.

  • Quality remains irregular.

🇲🇼 Malawi

  • Selective demand. BP1s firm, PDs neglected, D1s dearer.

🌏 Asian Markets

🇱🇰 Sri Lanka (Colombo)

  • Auction Volume: 5.08 million kg.

  • Overall Market: Held steady.

  • Ex-Estate:

    • BOP & BOPF: Mostly firm to dearer.

    • Uva: BOPs were dearer, BOPFs firm.

  • Low Grown Leafy: Mixed performance, OP1s eased up to USC 30.

  • Premiums: Some lower by USC 10; others firm.

🇮🇳 India

  • North India (Kolkata & Guwahati):

    • Good demand for liquoring Assams.

    • Medium Assams firm to dearer; Dooars irregular.

  • South India:

    • Dust grades sold around last week's levels.

    • CTC Leaf: Firm to dearer 2–3c.

    • Orthodox Leaf: Cleaner high-grown grades dearer 4–5c.

  • Concern: US tariffs may reduce exports; exporters eye China.

🇮🇩 Indonesia

  • Low Demand: 39% unsold.

  • Market: Mostly steady to easier; only primary grades well-absorbed.

  • Weather: Daily rains benefiting crop.

🌦️ Weather & Crop Trends

  • Kenya: Cloudy in the East; sunshine and showers in the West. Crop intake marginally increased.

  • India & Sri Lanka: Mixed weather patterns, mostly conducive for harvesting.

  • Rwanda: Dry season may impact upcoming availability.

  • Indonesia: Consistent rainfall supports crop conditions.
