🇰🇪 Kenya – Fair General Demand

Kenya saw the largest offering of the year with 214,000 packages, 31% of which remained unsold. The average price held at USD 1.81/kg. BP1s (KTDA EoR and WoR) were firm to dearer, especially for flavory and medium grades. PF1s traded steady to easier, with KTDA WoR seeing stronger demand. PD and D1 grades opened easier but firmed up mid-sale.📈 Active markets: Kazakhstan, CIS, Egypt, Yemen, Pakistan, UK, Russia.📉 Absent: Sudan.🌧️ Weather: Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and increasing temperatures were observed.🔮 Outlook: Gradual production increase expected; demand likely to strengthen.

🇲🇼 Malawi – Subdued Demand

Demand remained weak with only 2,540 packages on offer. BP1s attracted some bids; most other grades were neglected.🌧️ Weather: Chiperoni conditions with rainfall in Mulanje and Thyolo.📉 Crop: Seasonal decline continues due to pruning.🔮 Outlook: Steady to easier.

🇺🇬 🇹🇿 🇷🇼 🇧🇮 Other African Markets

  • Uganda: Improved demand, firm to dearer across all grades.

  • Tanzania: Limited supply, steady demand.

  • Rwanda: Strong demand; BP1s and PF1s sold at dearer levels.

  • Burundi: Supply improved, but demand weak due to poor quality.

🇱🇰 Sri Lanka – Fair Demand

The auction offered 6.67 million kgs.

  • Ex-Estate: Mixed performance. BOPs dearer (+USC 5–8), BOPF easier (–USC 8–10).

  • Medium Grown: Steady to firm. Better OP1s and FBOPs up, some easing as sale progressed.

  • Low Grown Leafy: Firm to dearer across most types.

  • Dusts: Low grown dearer (+USC 25–35); high grown eased (–USC 5–10).🔮 Overall outlook: Stable, with minor fluctuations.

🇮🇳 India – Good Demand

  • North India Orthodox: Strong demand, especially for finer tippy grades.

  • North India CTC: Mixed demand. Good medium Assams showed irregular trends.

  • South India Orthodox & CTC: Firm to easier across the board.📉 Production: Down ~13% year-on-year as of April.

🇮🇩 Indonesia – Slow Demand

Just 3,940 packages on offer with 32% unsold. Sumatra PF grades met better demand, while others remained flat.🌧️ Rains persisted throughout the archipelago.📉 Exporter participation was low; local packers dominated.
