🇰🇪 Kenya – Fair General Demand
A total of 153,920 packages were on offer, up slightly from last week. Demand was steady, but the average price dropped by 11 US cents, largely due to weaker performance from East of Rift PF1s.
BP1s: KTDA East of Rift saw selective interest; West of Rift performed better with firm pricing.
PF1s: Mixed results, with Pakistan packers active; black leaf types fetched stronger prices.
Dust Grades: Maintained good demand with Egyptian buyers active.Unsold rate: 35%Outlook: Market may rebound as fresh tea availability declines and Pakistan Bazaar re-enters.Weather: Continued rainfall, cooler nights, marginal crop increase.
🇲🇼 Malawi – Good Demand at Irregular Rates
BP1s: Very strong demand, up to +12usc.
PDs: Selective but firmer.
Offgrades: FNGS 5–7usc below values; dust types neglected.Weather: Dry days, cold nights.Outlook: Firm to dearer.
🌍 Other African Markets
🇺🇬 Uganda: Steady demand, slightly dearer levels, but mixed leaf quality.
🇷🇼 Rwanda: Selective buying; tea quality at peak but availability expected to decline.
🇧🇮 Burundi: Availability up, but demand low due to poor quality.
🇹🇿 Tanzania: No offerings this week.
🇱🇰 Sri Lanka – Strong Demand
Auction volume: 5.195 million kgs
Ex-Estate: BOPs eased, BOPF dearer (+10–20usc).
CTC: Low grown PF1s held firm; BP1s dearer.
Medium Leafy Teas: OP1s firm; FBOPs and FF1s +6–12usc.
Low Grown Leafy: OP1, BOP1, OP/OPA grades +5–15usc.
Premiums & Dust: Mixed trends, better teas mostly dearer.
🇮🇳 India – Fair Demand
South India:
CTC Dust: Fair demand; good teas easier, others firmer.
Orthodox Dust & Leaf: Firm to dearer.
Buyers: AVT, HUL, exporters active.
North India:
CTC & Orthodox Leaf: Steady demand; best Assams slightly easier.
Buyers: Major blenders and exporters selectively active.
🇮🇩 Indonesia – Fair Demand
Packages: 4,000 offered; 19% unsold.
Orthodox Java/Sumatra: Firm, especially broken grades (BOP/BOPF/BT).
CTC: Steady to easier; withdrawals observed.Note: Offerings still 50% below 2024 levels; local packers dominate but exporters showed more interest this week.
